As many of you know, I am currently focusing on a Mediterranean-style keto approach alongside GLP-1 therapy as part of my ongoing journey toward better metabolic health.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success is rarely about finding the perfect supplement or miracle product.
Instead, it comes from creating daily habits that support nourishment, hydration, movement, sleep, and consistency.
These are some of my favorite Amazon finds that help support my metabolic health journey this month. While none of these products are required, they can make healthy habits easier and more sustainable.
A Note from Raven
Everything you’ll find here is something I personally use, have carefully researched, or genuinely believe may support women on their journey toward better metabolic health. These recommendations are simply tools that have made it a little easier for me to nourish my body through protein, hydration, movement, mindful living, and evidence-based nutrition.
Every “body” is unique. What works well for me may not be the right fit for you. I encourage you to choose products that align with your individual health needs, preferences, and budget, and to discuss any significant dietary or supplement changes with your healthcare provider.

1. Isopure Zero Carb Unflavored Protein Powder
One of my favorite tools for supporting protein intake while using a GLP-1 medication is a high-quality unflavored protein powder.
There are days when appetite is low, meals feel overwhelming, or chewing enough protein becomes difficult. Instead of relying on sweet shakes, I often incorporate unflavored protein powder into foods and beverages I am already enjoying.
My favorite ways to use it include:
- Stirring into warm bone broth for a protein-rich, savory drink
- Mixing into miso soup for a nourishing, protein-packed meal. (Easy to make, purchase the miso paste!)
- Blending into soups and stews
- Adding to Greek yogurt or cottage cheese
- Mixing into smoothies when needed
- Stirring into oatmeal or chia pudding for family members not following keto
Why I love it:
- An easy way to increase daily protein intake
- Works well when appetite is low
- Versatile and easy to incorporate into meals
- Less sweet than traditional protein shakes
- Supports muscle preservation during weight loss
- Pairs beautifully with Mediterranean-style keto and GLP-1 nutrition strategies
My Favorite Tip:
For me, protein is one of the most important foundations of metabolic health. Having an unflavored protein powder on hand makes it easier to nourish my body even on days when eating a full meal feels challenging.
Raven’s Reflection
“One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that nourishing your body isn’t always about eating more; it’s about making every bite count. There are days when my appetite is low, and preparing a full meal feels overwhelming. Instead of criticizing myself, I’ve learned to work with my body rather than against it. This simple protein powder has become one of the gentle ways I support my metabolism, preserve muscle, and remind myself that caring for my body doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes healing begins with one small, nourishing choice.”
2. Chia Seeds
Chia seeds have become one of my favorite additions to Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, protein bowls, and even the occasional protein smoothie.
For women using GLP-1 medications, chia seeds can be a simple but powerful way to support both satiety and digestive health. When mixed with a liquid, chia seeds absorb water and form a gel-like texture that may help promote fullness and slow digestion, making them a wonderful complement to a protein-first eating approach. Experiment!
Many women on GLP-1 therapies find it challenging to get enough fiber, especially when appetite is reduced. Chia seeds offer an easy way to add fiber without requiring a large volume of food.
Why I love them:
- Rich in soluble and insoluble fiber
- May help support healthy digestion and regularity
- Provides plant-based omega-3 fats
- Helps promote fullness and satiety between meals
- Supports blood sugar stability when paired with protein
- Easy to add to yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, and protein bowls
- A simple way to increase fiber intake while eating lower-carb
My Favorite Tip:
My favorite way to enjoy them is to mix them into Greek yogurt or cottage cheese, with a sprinkle of cinnamon and a few berries. It creates a satisfying, protein-rich meal that keeps me feeling nourished for hours. I also add it to my almond milk with a bit of sugar-free hazelnut syrup!
Raven’s Reflection
“Nature has an incredible way of providing exactly what our bodies need. Chia seeds remind me that even the smallest things can have a meaningful impact. They add nourishment without requiring perfection, helping me support digestion, fiber intake, and satiety in a simple, sustainable way. Every time I sprinkle them into my yogurt or morning drink, I’m reminded that lasting health is often built through small, consistent choices repeated with love.”
3. Pompeian Smooth Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra virgin olive oil has become one of the foundations of my Mediterranean-style keto lifestyle.
After years of trying different approaches to nutrition, I’ve found that healing isn’t about fearing fat; it’s about choosing the right fats. Rather than relying on highly processed foods, I now focus on nourishing my body with whole, minimally processed ingredients that provide lasting energy and satisfaction.
I drizzle extra virgin olive oil over salads, tomatoes, avocado, roasted vegetables, grilled seafood, and even cottage cheese. It’s one of the simplest ways to transform a meal into something both delicious and deeply nourishing.
For women using GLP-1 medications, healthy fats can also play an important role in creating satisfying meals. When paired with protein and fiber-rich vegetables, olive oil helps meals feel more complete, which may support satiety and reduce the desire to snack between meals.
Extra virgin olive oil is also a hallmark of the Mediterranean dietary pattern, one of the most well-researched eating patterns associated with heart health and overall metabolic wellness.
Why I love it:
- Rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats
- Helps create satisfying meals that keep me feeling full longer
- Complements a Mediterranean-style keto lifestyle
- Adds incredible flavor without relying on processed sauces or dressings
- Supports the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamins A, D, E, and K from colorful vegetables
- Encourages me to eat more vegetables because they simply taste better
- A versatile pantry staple for salads, roasted vegetables, seafood, and protein-rich meals
My Favorite Tip:
One of my favorite simple meals is sliced tomatoes and avocado, drizzled generously with extra-virgin olive oil, finished with sea salt, cracked pepper, and fresh herbs. Paired with grilled salmon, chicken, or eggs, it’s a nourishing meal that leaves me feeling energized, satisfied, and deeply cared for.
Raven’s Reflection:
“For years, I believed fat was something to avoid. Today, I see healthy fats very differently. Extra virgin olive oil has taught me that nourishment isn’t something to fear, it’s something to embrace. Every drizzle over fresh vegetables or protein-rich meals is a reminder that food is not the enemy. It’s one of the beautiful ways we care for our bodies, support our metabolism, and reconnect with the joy of eating. Healing doesn’t begin with restriction. It begins with nourishment.”
4. Glass Meal Prep Containers
One of the simplest habits that has transformed my metabolic health journey is preparing nourishing meals in advance.
When healthy choices are already waiting for me in the refrigerator, I’m much less likely to skip meals, reach for convenience foods, or wonder what to eat when I’m busy or tired.
Meal preparation isn’t about perfection.
It’s about creating an environment that makes it easier to nourish yourself.
I personally prefer glass containers because they’re durable, easy to clean, don’t retain food odors, and can go from the refrigerator to the microwave or oven (depending on the manufacturer’s instructions). Seeing my meals also reminds me to prioritize protein, vegetables, and healthy fats throughout the week.
Why I Love Them
- Simplifies weekly meal preparation
- Makes it easy to build protein-first meals
- Encourages healthier choices during busy days
- Helps with portion awareness without counting every bite
- Keeps fresh ingredients visible and organized
- Reduces dependence on convenience foods and takeout
- Saves both time and money throughout the week
My Favorite Tip
Every Sunday, I prepare a few protein options such as grilled chicken, hard-boiled eggs, roasted vegetables, or a taco meal, and store them in individual glass containers. Having nourishing foods ready to go makes it much easier to build balanced meals throughout the week, even on my busiest days.
Remember: Healthy eating isn’t about having more willpower. Often, it’s about making the nourishing choice the easiest choice.
Raven’s Reflection
“Preparing meals ahead of time isn’t about controlling food; it’s about caring for your future self. Every container you fill today is a small act of kindness you’ll thank yourself for tomorrow.”
5. Magnesium Glycinate (*With Physician Approval)
Over the past two years, I’ve come to realize that healing isn’t just about what we eat; it’s also about how well we rest.
Sleep is one of the most powerful, yet often overlooked, foundations of metabolic health. When we’re well-rested, our bodies are better equipped to regulate blood sugar, support hormone balance, recover from daily stress, and make thoughtful food choices. Unfortunately, many women navigating midlife, menopause, or GLP-1 therapy find that restful sleep doesn’t always come easily.
Magnesium glycinate has become one of the simple tools I incorporate into my evening routine. It is a highly absorbable form of magnesium that many people find gentle on the digestive system. While individual experiences vary, many women use it to support relaxation and healthy sleep as part of an overall wellness routine.
Why I Love It:
- Supports relaxation and a calming bedtime routine
- May help promote restful sleep and improved sleep quality
- Highly absorbable form of magnesium
- Gentle on digestion for many people
- Supports normal muscle and nerve function
- Plays a role in hundreds of biochemical reactions throughout the body
- Complements other healthy lifestyle habits that support metabolic wellness
My Favorite Tip:
I take my magnesium glycinate in the evening as part of a calming bedtime ritual. I dim the lights, put away my phone, make a warm cup of herbal tea or hot almond milk with sugar-free syrup (almond or mint), spend a few quiet moments reflecting on the day, and allow my body time to transition into rest. For me, supplements work best when they are paired with healthy habits rather than expected to do all the work on their own.
Raven’s Reflection:
“One of the greatest gifts I’ve given myself is permission to rest without guilt. For years, I thought productivity was the measure of a good day. Now I understand that rest is just as important as nourishment and movement. Healing doesn’t only happen when we’re active, it also happens while we sleep. Every peaceful evening is an opportunity to care for the remarkable work my body is doing behind the scenes.”
A Gentle Reminder:
Magnesium supplements are not appropriate for everyone. If you have kidney disease, take certain medications, or have questions about whether magnesium is right for you, talk with your healthcare provider before beginning any new supplement.
6. Resistance Bands
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned on my metabolic health journey is that preserving muscle is just as important as losing fat.
Muscle is one of our greatest allies for healthy aging. It supports balance, strength, mobility, blood sugar regulation, and metabolic health. As women age, especially during and after menopause, we naturally begin to lose muscle mass if we don’t actively work to maintain it.
Resistance bands have become one of my favorite tools because they’re approachable, affordable, and incredibly effective. Whether you’re just beginning your movement journey or looking for a simple way to add strength training at home, resistance bands make it easy to build confidence one exercise at a time.
Why I Love Them:
- Affordable and accessible
- Beginner-friendly for every fitness level
- Easy to use at home or while traveling
- Supports muscle preservation during weight loss
- Helps improve strength, balance, and stability
- Low-impact and gentle on joints
- Encourages consistency over perfection
My Favorite Tip:
Don’t underestimate the power of ten or fifteen minutes. A few simple resistance exercises, performed several times each week, can help preserve muscle, improve mobility, and build confidence. The goal isn’t to become a bodybuilder; it’s to stay strong enough to fully enjoy the life you want to live. I started small. Watch YouTube or a starter course. Be gentle with yourself!
Science Spotlight:
Resistance training is widely recommended for adults because it helps preserve lean muscle mass, supports healthy aging, improves insulin sensitivity, and contributes to bone health. When paired with adequate protein intake, it becomes an important strategy for women seeking to maintain muscle during weight loss.
Raven’s Reflection:
“Strength isn’t about lifting the heaviest weight. It’s about building a body that supports the life you love. Every time I pick up my resistance bands, I’m investing in my future self one small, intentional movement at a time.”
7. Body Measurement Tape
One of the greatest gifts I’ve given myself is learning to celebrate progress beyond the scale.
For years, I allowed one number to determine whether I felt successful. Today, I know that healing often shows up in ways the scale cannot measure.
As my own waist circumference changed and my laboratory values improved, I realized something powerful: my body was healing long before dramatic changes appeared on the scale.
A simple measuring tape has become one of my favorite wellness tools because it reminds me to celebrate the whole journey, not just the number I see each morning.
Why I Love It:
- Tracks meaningful non-scale victories
- Monitors changes in body composition over time
- Measures progress even during weight-loss plateaus
- Encourages a broader definition of success
- Supports long-term motivation
- Provides another way to celebrate healing
My Favorite Tip:
Take your measurements once each month, not every week. Our bodies naturally fluctuate, and meaningful changes often happen gradually. Monthly measurements help you track long-term progress without getting discouraged by day-to-day fluctuations.
Science Spotlight:
Waist circumference is recognized as an important indicator of metabolic health because it can reflect changes in abdominal fat, which is associated with insulin resistance, cardiovascular risk, and overall metabolic wellness.
Raven’s Reflection:
“Your body is changing in ways you may not always see. Healing isn’t measured by one number. Sometimes the most meaningful progress is happening quietly, beneath the surface, long before the scale catches up.”
8. Insulated Water Bottle
Hydration is one of the simplest forms of self-care, yet it’s also one of the easiest habits to overlook.
When appetite decreases during GLP-1 therapy or while following a lower-carbohydrate lifestyle, many women unintentionally drink less water. Staying hydrated supports digestion, energy, circulation, kidney health, and overall well-being.
Keeping a reusable insulated water bottle nearby has become one of the easiest ways for me to care for myself throughout the day.
Why I Love It:
- Encourages consistent hydration
- Helps monitor daily water intake
- Keeps water cold for hours
- Easy to carry throughout the day
- Supports healthy digestion
- Makes healthy habits more convenient
My Favorite Tip:
I begin every morning by drinking water before coffee. That simple habit has helped me become much more intentional about hydration and gently reminds me to nourish my body before the demands of the day begin.
Science Spotlight:
Adequate hydration supports normal digestion, circulation, kidney function, temperature regulation, and overall health. Women using GLP-1 medications or following lower-carbohydrate eating patterns may benefit from paying extra attention to hydration and electrolyte balance.
Raven’s Reflection:
“Sometimes caring for ourselves begins with the simplest choices. Every sip of water is a quiet reminder that our bodies deserve nourishment, attention, and kindness throughout the day.”
9. Wellness/Food Journal
One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been slowing down long enough to notice what my body has been trying to tell me.
Writing things down helped me discover patterns I never would have noticed otherwise. I began connecting my sleep with my energy, my meals with my blood sugar, my stress with my cravings, and my movement with how I felt throughout the day.
A wellness journal isn’t about perfection.
It’s about paying attention.
Why I Love It:
- Tracks symptoms, habits, and progress
- Monitors sleep, energy, and mood
- Helps identify patterns over time
- Encourages mindful reflection
- Celebrates non-scale victories
- Supports conversations with healthcare providers
My Favorite Tip:
Spend just five minutes each evening writing one thing your body taught you that day. Those small reflections become a powerful reminder of how much healing is happening over time.
Science Spotlight:
Self-monitoring through journaling has been associated with improved awareness, healthier behavior change, increased adherence to wellness goals, and greater long-term success in many lifestyle interventions.
Raven’s Reflection:
“Healing begins with awareness. Every page is an invitation to slow down, listen to your body, celebrate your progress, and remember that your journey deserves to be witnessed, including by you.”

My Biggest Takeaway This Month
As I continue this journey, I’m discovering something I wish I had understood years ago.
Metabolic healing isn’t built through deprivation. It isn’t about eating as little as possible, exercising until we’re exhausted, or chasing perfection.
Healing begins when we nourish our bodies rather than fight them.
When we become curious instead of critical.
When we replace guilt with grace and fear with understanding.
Over the past two years, I’ve learned that my body has never been working against me.
It has been communicating with me all along.
Every nourishing meal, every peaceful walk, every restful night’s sleep, every glass of water, every strength-building movement, and every act of self-compassion is another opportunity to support the remarkable work my body is already doing.
The products I’ve shared in this month’s Raven’s Must-Haves aren’t magic solutions.
They’re simply tools that have made it easier for me to build healthy, sustainable habits.
The real transformation has never come from a supplement, a kitchen gadget, or a number on the scale.
It has come from the small choices I make every single day.
Choosing protein before restriction.
Choosing hydration before another cup of coffee.
Choosing movement instead of perfection.
Choosing rest without guilt.
Choosing to celebrate non-scale victories.
Choosing to speak to myself with kindness.
Those are the habits that have changed my life.
Those are the true essentials.
My hope is that this month’s journal reminds you that healing doesn’t have to happen all at once.
It happens one meal…
One walk…
One deep breath…
One compassionate choice at a time.
Thank you for allowing me to share this journey with you.
It is an honor to learn alongside such remarkable women.
May you continue to grow in knowledge, confidence, and trust in your own remarkable biology.
A Final Reflection from Raven:
“These aren’t magic products, and they certainly aren’t required for healing. They’re simply tools that have supported me on my own journey toward better metabolic health. The most important thing I’ve learned is that lasting wellness isn’t found in buying more things; it’s found in consistently choosing habits that nourish your body, calm your mind, and honor the remarkable woman you already are. My hope is that if even one of these tools makes your journey a little easier, then sharing them has been worthwhile.
“Monthly Blessing”
May you nourish your body with kindness, your mind with knowledge, and your heart with compassion. May you find strength in every small step, hope in every new beginning, and peace in knowing that healing is not about perfection; it is about learning to trust the remarkable wisdom within you.
Until next month…The light is on, and you belong.
